Heartbeat Guide - Communicating progress with your investors

Learn how to use Heartbeat to keep your investors informed with regular business updates and key performance metrics. This guide covers setting up KPIs, creating and publishing Heartbeats, uploading supporting files, and what investors see when they receive your updates.

Overview

Heartbeat helps you keep your investors updated on the health of your company by automatically sharing key performance indicators (KPIs).

Getting Started

1. Access Heartbeat

  • Navigate to the left-hand menu and select Heartbeat

2. Start using Heartbeat

  • Click the Start using Heartbeat button to begin.

3. Define your Heartbeat information

Defining data items

Your Heartbeat will display the standard modules but you can edit these by adding modules from the module library by drag and drop.

4. Uploading files

You can upload file directly in the data room or from the Heartbeat page. The Heartbeat folder is in the 'Company general information' folder.

You can also find it in the edit drop down.

5. Reviewing a Heartbeat before publishing

Once you’ve edited and filled in your Heartbeat data, you can review it by clicking 'View as shareholder'

6. Publishing a Heartbeat

When ready, click Publish.

Note: Publishing is irrevocable and will notify your shareholders.

7. What does the shareholder see?

When you publish a Heartbeat, your investors are notified automatically via email. They can click 'View Heartbeat' link in the email and see the Heartbeat.
